The Modi Government has rolled out major GST rate cuts across key sectors:
- Daily essentials
- Health insurance
- Agriculture inputs
- Automobiles & electronics
📅  Effective from 22nd September 2025, just ahead of the festive season.
At the same time, the GST Council has introduced a 40% GST rate on luxury & sin goods like tobacco, pan masala, and high-end items.
Along with rate revisions, important procedural reforms and clarifications have also been recommended to simplify compliance.
